Understand Your Hair Type

Discover Your Unique Hair Type in 5 Easy Steps!

Take a Moment to Get to Know Your Hair
Understanding your unique hair type is the first step to achieving healthier, more vibrant hair. Each of us has different needs, and finding the right products and treatments can make all the difference. By taking a few minutes to learn about your hair's texture, density, porosity, and specific needs, you’ll be empowered to choose the products that truly suit you. Whether it’s for moisture, volume, or strength, knowing your hair type helps you unlock the best version of your hair. Ready to discover what works best for you? Let’s get started!

Step 1: What is Your Curl Pattern and Texture?

Look at your hair when it’s clean and dry. Which type fits you best?

Ps.: Consider Mixed Patterns

If you notice different patterns in various sections of your hair, identify the most dominant one. For example, if most of your hair is wavy but some sections are straight, classify it as wavy.

Step 2: How Dense is Your Hair?

Check how much hair you have. Can you see your scalp?

Can you see your scalp easily? Is your hair sparse? That means low density.
Is your scalp not easily visible, and does your hair have balanced volume? That means medium density.
Is your scalp completely hidden? Does your hair look full and thick? That means high density.

Step 3: What is Your Hair’s Porosity Level?

    Let’s perform a quick test!

Take a clean, dry strand of hair and place it in a glass of water.

Does it sink quickly?: High porosity (absorbs moisture fast but loses it quickly).
Does it float?: Low porosity (resistant to moisture).
Does it sink slowly?: Normal porosity (absorbs and retains moisture well).

Step 4: How Oily or Dry is Your Scalp?

Think about how your scalp feels.

Oily: Does your hair get greasy quickly, requiring frequent washing?
Normal: Is your scalp balanced—not too oily or dry?
Dry: Does your scalp feel dry, and does your hair look dull or frizzy?
